Starting from scratch

You would think that in today’s consumer driven world you could easily find ‘exactly what you’re looking for.’ However more often than not, your ideal piece remains illusive. The Steensons offer a design service specifically for the individual.

Our Belfast and Glenarm stores offer an in-house design service. The relaxing surroundings and specially trained staff will put you at ease with what can sometimes seem like a daunting task. Through trying on jewellery you will get a feel for our style and a better idea of what you do and do not like. This provides the ‘spring board’ needed to start the design process.

Our new ‘Gemvision’ software enables us to produce graphic images of the design, to scale, which helps take the ‘but I just can’t visualise’ worries away. The end result: a unique and individual piece of jewellery especially for you.

Fitted Wedding Bands

Not all engagement rings sit flush with a straight wedding band and it can be difficult to find a shaped ring that fits snugly ‘off the shelf.’ The Steensons are specialists in fitted wedding bands. We can shape the wedding ring to sit perfectly with your engagement ring. Through our in-house design we can produce a ring which compliments and enhances your engagement ring.

Our staff can talk you through the different options and in some cases, it is possible to have a wax model produced of the ring before final casting takes place.

Restyling

Many pieces of jewellery go out of fashion. Or jewellery in your family may be handed down to you which simply isn’t to your taste. These pieces often remain valuable, either as a sum of their materials or in sentimental terms.

Whichever the case, it is possible to re-use stones and some types of gold to create a new piece of jewellery to your taste. The design process is much the same as ‘starting from scratch’ just adapted slightly to incorporate the particular stones or gold that you have, that we are able to use.
